M.Sc. in Physics/Mathematics with a minimum CPI of 6.5 out of 10 or 60% marks. B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA/MS with a minimum CPI of 8 out of 10 or 75% marks. A valid GATE score (obtained in the last 5 years) or CSIR/UGC NET qualification is preferred. The GATE/CSIR-UGC NET requirement is waived for candidates from Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) who have a CGPA of 8.5 out of 10 or 80% marks.
