Candidate must be an Indian citizen. Candidate must be mentally and physically fit to discharge the duties of the post. A male candidate with more than one living spouse, and a female candidate married to such a person, is not eligible for appointment unless specifically exempted by the government.

KREIS Teacher Educational Qualification (Subject-wise)

Kannada Language Teachers: Graduation with Kannada as an optional subject in the Arts stream from a recognized university, or the four-year "Kannada Pandith" course from the Karnataka State Pre-University Education Board, together with a Kannada B.Ed. degree; or a Bachelor's degree with Kannada as an optional subject plus a postgraduate degree in Kannada. Age is calculated as on the last date of online application submission. As per Government Order No. ಸಿಆಸಇ 262 ಸೇನನಿ 2025 dated 29-01-2026, a one-time relaxation of 5 years has been added to the standard upper age limit under Karnataka Civil Services (General Recruitment) Rules, 1977. Minimum age required is 18 years.
